Matilda 2022

Matilda Wormwood (Alisha Weir) is a little child with a keen intellect, a lively imagination, and the worst parents ever. She enjoys losing herself in the pages of her favorite novels while her parents, actors Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough, satisfy themselves with trashy TV and dubious money-making ideas. She is a quiet watcher, coming up with clever and small-scale acts of rebellion and retaliation where they are loud, selfish, and rude. When Matilda first meets her inspiring teacher, Miss Honey (Lashana Lynch), she is inspired and starts making up her own magical stories. Matilda is thrilled to join Crunchem Hall, so she is surprised to learn that the school is a dark, depressing place controlled by the enormous, evil Miss Trunchbull (Emma Thompson). as well.
